  • What is the main feature of Claro Smart Spaces solution?

    With the Claro Smart Spaces system you can control lights, temperature, sensors, smoke detectors and a number of appliances and other devices from your smartphone or tablet. The core of the system is the Main Console to which you connect all your wireless devices, and the app.

  • How do the sensors work on the devices?

    Smart devices commonly have many features. For example, a motion sensor device can consist of a motion sensor and a temperature sensor. The functions of a device can be configured to do separate and unrelated functionality in your home. The above motion sensor device could have the the motion sensor configured to trigger the alarm while the temperature sensor could control the temperature in a room.

    Configure a device
    The configure procedure tells the system how to use the device. Press configure on the device either in the manage devices screen or in the scan result page.

    Choose a name for the device. The device is usually listed either in the room or with room information and we recommend using a name that distinguishes similar devices within the room.
    Set the room for the device.
    Configure each of the device functions.
    To configure a device function:

    Set the name of the function. This field is only shown if the device has multiple functions that are similar. E.g a for wall socket with two outlets you must name each outlet in order to distinguish them from each other.
    Set the “Usage” and “Usage option” settings
    The “Usage” setting determines if the function is connected to the system logic:
    Light – The function is used as a light source or light controlling device in the room and is controlled in the “lights” tab of the room.
    Climate – The function is used to automatically control the temperature in the associated room and is controlled under the climate tab of the room.
    Security – The function is part of the security system of the room. Security sensors are shown under the “sensors” tab of a room.
    Generic – The function is not tied to any of the system logic but is controlled manually by the user. The function is found in the “generic” tab of the room.

  • how to strengthen the signal in between the device and the Main Console?

    Erratic behavior – If the device seems to work sometimes and other times not or is very slow to react, the cause is probably a weak signal. Change the location of the Main Console or strengthen the signal with a device connected to the AC power (smart bulb, smart outlet or the siren) in between the Main Console and the device.

  • Will the system work temporarily off line?

    YES – the Claro Smart Spaces system has a built in function that makes it work perfectly off line. It remembers schedules for heating and lights, and as long as you are connected to the same wifi network as the Main Console, you can control all devices with the app. To control them remotely, the system will use a SIM card as an alternative to your local network.

  • Can I add more users to my project?

    Open the new user’s app and click “OK, I’m ready” to start the connection. Make sure your smartphone is connected to the same network as your Main Console, follow the next steps to connect the smartphone with the Main Console:

    Step 1. Press the Connect button located in the center of the Main console to turn on the connection mode. * You have successfully placed the Main Console in connection mode when the green LED light is on.
    Step 2. Wait for the Main Console and the smartphone to connect.
    Step 3. If the connection has been successfully achieved, a message will appear in the app.

    To see the new user choose Settings from the menu, select Access Control from any of the linked applications.

  • Will I reduce my energy consumption?

    YES – we can prove that you achieve energy savings using Claro Smart Power Outlet and Smart Light Bulb and control the use of lights and appliances.

  • Can I have more than one bedroom in the app?

    YES – You can add as many areas as you wish. Then automating functions in each room, such as lighting in the rooms, bathrooms and living room, you can dim the intensity only in the living room and dining room, for instance.

  • How does the security system work?

    A security system typically consists of magnet sensors on doors and windows, motion sensors in various places in your room and sirens in addition to the controlling Main Console.
    The system has three different armed modes:
    Away – This armed mode usually enables all the motion and magnet sensors and is typically used when there is no one at home.
    Stay – This armed mode usually enables all the magnet sensors but none of the motion sensors. If used like this the magnet sensors creates a “shell” around your home and is typically used when you are at home during the daytime and want protection against intruders.
    Night – This armed mode usually enables all the magnet sensors and selected motion sensors. Typically the motion sensors around your bedroom are left disabled allowing you to move freely in your bedroom and to the bathroom without triggering the alarm. This mode is typically used when you are going to sleep and creates a safe zone around your sleeping area.
    All of the armed modes can enable/disable any sensor to your liking. The rest of this document discusses setup.

  • How to install a magnet sensor?

    Install/Pair the magnet sensor
    Open the casing of the device.
    Start the search in the app.
    Insert the enclosed batteries into the device and close the casing.
    Configure the magnet sensor
    Click configure on the magnet sensor after scanning for new devices.
    Set the device name.
    Add the device to a room.

    Select the room you want from the list or add a new room.

    Configure each of the functions of the magnet sensor device.

  • What does the flashing green light mean on the Magnet Sensor?

    The device flashes the green light when it senses a change in the location of the magnet under normal operation.

  • What does the flashing red light mean on the Magnet sensor?

    The device is unpaired and is searching for the Main Console.

  • What does the red light that rapidly flashes mean on the magnet sensor?

    The device tried to connect to the Main Console but failed. Please retry to scan for the device in the app.

  • How do I install a Motion Sensor?

    Install/Pair the Motion sensor
    Open the casing of the device.
    Start the scan in the app.
    Insert the enclosed battery into the device.
    The Motion sensor will start searching (up to 15 minutes) for a network to join.
    While searching for a network, the LED button on the Motion sensor is flashing.
    Configure the Motion sensor device
    Click configure on the motion sensor when the device has been found or from the manage devices screen.
    Set the device name.
    Add the device to a room

    Select the room you want from the list or add a new room.

    Configure each of the functions of the motion sensor device:

    Security sensor
    Temperature sensor
    Light sensor

  • Is the camera cloud storage really free of charge?

    YES – Claro Smart Spaces will store your videos for 7 days at no cost.

  • How do I install a smart door lock?

    Install/Pair the Door lock
    Start the search in the app.
    Remove plastic from the batteries.
    If the light does not blink green, follow the reset procedure.
    Configure the Door lock
    Click configure on the Door lockwhen the device has been found or from the manage devices screen.
    Set a device name.
    Add the device to a room.

    Select the room you want from the list or add a new room.

  • How do I calibrate a smart door lock?

    In order for your door lock to function properly it must be calibrated. To calibrate your door lock:
    Make sure it is installed properly in the door.
    Unlock the door.
    Click the top button three times and the top led will turn white.
    Your lock will now calibrate.

  • How do I operate the smart lock with click/commands?

    You can control the smart lock via a switch reached through the small hole on top of the lock. You have 5 seconds before the smart lock engages the activity, giving you plenty of time to click the switch the right number of times. Notice: If you make a wrong number of clicks you can cancel by clicking 7 times.

    When you need to set the smart lock in ex/inclusion mode, click the switch one time, wait 5 seconds until the smart lock blinks green. Now it is ex/inclusion mode and you have 30 seconds to pair the smart lock with the Main Console.

    To calibrate manually, turn the smart lock completely into unlocked position, then click twice. Wait 5 seconds until it flashes yellow, then turn the smart lock into locked position and click once.

    To calibrate automatically, turn the smart lock manually until the door is unlocked and leave the door open while calibrating. Lift the handle if needed. Now click 3 times, after 5 seconds the smart lock will calibrate. It blinks white.

    To reset the smart lock and delete all setting in it. click 10 times, wait 5 seconds. now the smart lick blinks red and reset.

  • How do I install a security keypad?

    Install/Pair the security keypad
    Start the search in the app.
    Configure the keypad
    Click configure on the keypad when the device has been found or from the manage devices screen.
    Set a device name.
    Add the device to a room.

    Select the room you want from the list or add a new room.

  • How do I install a the Siren?

    Install/Pair the Siren
    Start the search in the app
    Connect the siren to a power-socket
    Configure the Siren
    Click configure on the Siren when the device has been found or from the manage devices screen.
    Set the device name.
    Add the device to a room.

    Select the room you want from the list or add a new room.

  • How do I reset a Magnet Sensor?

    Reset the motion sensor
    Detach the sensor from the magnetic mounting base and/or open the casing.
    Check that the battery is inserted correctly.
    Press and hold the menu button approximately 10-15 seconds until the red LED starts to flash continuously.
    Release the button during flashing.
    The resetting process is complete when the red LED starts to blink every second.

  • What is Smart Bulb?

    Smart Bulb is a term for light bulbs with built in wireless communication and you can control them from your smart phone or tablet as soon as they are connected to the Claro Smart Spaces Main Console

  • How do I install the Smart Led?

    Install/Pair the Smart Led
    Fit the bulb in the socket.
    Make sure that the bulb has power (toggle the power switch if necessary).
    Start the scan for new devices in the app.
    Configure the Smart Led
    Click configure on the Smart Led when the device has been found or from the manage devices screen.
    Set the device name.
    Add the device to a room.

    Select the room you want from the list or add a new room.

    Set the usage of the bulb. Please refer to the light function for further information.

  • Can I control all lights in one room as a group?

    YES – you can assign all lights to a room and thereby control all of them with one slider in the app. Please make sure the switch is set to the “whole room”

  • Can my lights automatically turn off when I go to bed?

    YES – if you have registered in the time schedule that you go to bed at midnight, the Claro Smart Spaces system will turn off the lights accordingly.

  • How do I install the Smart Plug?

    Install/Pair the smart plug
    Start the search in the app.
    Connect the Smart plug to a power-socket.
    Configure the smart plug
    Click configure on the smart plug when the device has been found or from the manage devices screen.
    Set the device name.
    Add the device to a room.

    Select the room you want from the list or add a new room.

    Configure the socket functionality.

  • How do I reset the Smart Led?

    Toggle the power switch on and off 7 times with 1 second intervals.
    When you turn the power on after this process the light bulb will blink 2 times. This indicates that the light bulb is no longer paired to your smart home system and can be paired again with the same Main Console or a new one.

  • How do I reset the smart plug?

    Remove the Smart Plug from the outlet and wait ten seconds.
    Press and hold the small white button on the front of the plug. While holding the button, insert the Smart Plug back into the outlet. As soon as the LED on the front of the plug lights up, release the button.

  • How do I add a new device?

    Simply tap on Settings from the menu, select Manage devices, click on “Start scanning” and the devices will start to appear. The scan will search for devices for 90 seconds.

  • How do I reset the smoke alarm?

    Detach the alarm from the mounting base by twisting it counterclockwise.
    Press and hold the LED button 10-15 seconds until it flashes continuously.
    Release the button.
    Resetting process is complete when the LED starts to blink.

  • How do I install the smoke alarm?

    Install/Pair the smoke alarm
    Open the casing of the device.
    Start the search in the app.
    Insert the enclosed battery into the device and close the casing.
    The Smoke Alarm will start searching (up to 15 minutes) for a network to join.
    While searching for a ZigBee network, the LED button on the back of the Smoke Alarm is flashing.
    Configure the smoke alarm
    Click configure on the Smoke alarm when the device has been found or from the manage devices screen.
    Set the device name.
    Add the device to a room.

    Select the room you want from the list or add a new room.

    Configure each of the functions of the smoke alarm device:

    Fire detector
    Temperature sensor

  • Can the smoke alarm send me notifications?

    YES – once connected to the system, you will get push notifications, an email and an sms message when the alarm is triggered, or when the battery is low.

  • How do I reset the flood sensor?

    Detach the cover of the alarm by twisting it counter clockwise.
    Remove the plastic disc.
    Press and hold the LED reset button until the LED flashes continuously.
    Release the button.
    Resetting process is complete when the LED reset button starts to flash.

  • How do I install the flood sensor?

    Install/Pair the flood sensor
    Open the casing of the device.
    Start the scan in the app.
    Insert the enclosed battery into the device.
    The Flood sensor will start searching (up to 15 minutes) for a network to join.
    While searching for a network, the LED on the Flood sensor is flashing.
    Configure the flood sensor
    Click configure on the flood sensor after scanning for new devices
    Set the device name.
    Add the device to a room.

    Select the room you want from the list or add a new room.

    Configure each of the functions of the flood sensor device:

  • Can I control my electrical heater from the app?

    YES – simply connect the electrical heater to a Claro Smart Outlet, call it heater in the config, and you can now control temperature and set timing to your old electrical heater.
